BENEVOLENT REQUEST FORM

Cross Church, in the exercise of its religious purposes, has established the benevolence fund to draw people closer to Christ by helping to meet their basic financial needs in times of crisis or transition, according to biblical directives and fiscal constraints.

Fund Purpose
Cross Church Benevolence Fund was established to provide Cross Church members or those referred by a member with temporary financial assistance for medical bills, rent, and utilities. Those in need of food, clothing, housing, and transportation will be referred to a local outreach partners.

Fund Source
The church welcomes contributions to the fund. The administration of the fund, including all disbursements, is subject to the control and discretion of the benevolence committee or church. The committee may consider recommendations from anyone, but in no event is the committee bound in any way to honor the recommendations. Donors will not be permitted to recover a contribution on the grounds that the committee failed to honor the donor’s recommendation. The church recognizes that planning for future needs is a practice of good stewardship and has established this fund as an ongoing fund. Should at any time in the future the church vote to close this fund, all money in the fund at that time will go in the general budget of the church.

Fund Disbursement
Benevolence will be disbursed based on the availability of funds and at the recommendations of the Benevolent Ministry Team. Disbursement will be made payable to the third-party provider.

Fund Criteria
Requestor must be a member of Cross Church in good standing in the areas of tithing, serving, and growing or must be referred by a member of Cross Church.
A request form for assistance must be filled out by the person requesting help or by a Cross Church member on behalf of the person in need.
Those requesting assistance must also be willing to receive biblical, and financial counseling.
